  • A high-pressure spray jet delivers a quick blast of anesthetic to the scrotum. It is practically painless. Most patients report the brief sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin.
  • The anesthetic spray penetrates through to the vas deferens without a needle. Dr. Safir then isolates the vas by using a small clamp. Tiny forceps are used to perform the actual vasectomy instead of a scalpel.
  • No sutures are required.
  • The whole procedure takes about 15 minutes.
  • Patients can drive themselves home.
