Diagnosing Pelvic Prolapse
Dr. Safir conducts a thorough pelvic exam if pelvic prolapse is suspected. The pelvic
exam allows him to assess the general health of the pelvic organs as well as the
condition of the pelvic floor muscles and vaginal tissue. If necessary, pelvic ultrasound
and other diagnostic imaging tests may be employed.
Types of Pelvic Prolapse
- Bladder prolapse (cystocele)
- Uterine prolapse
- Rectal prolapse (rectocele)
- Small intestine prolapse (enterocele)
